Why this site exists

When someone in Terre Haute needs help — food, a place to sleep, a free clinic, legal aid, a crisis line — the information they need is scattered across dozens of websites, outdated government pages, and word of mouth. Finding it fast, especially in a moment of crisis, shouldn't be that hard.

Terre Haute Help exists to fix that. One place, plain language, verified information, free to use on any device. If you need help, you shouldn't have to work to find it.

Every listing is reviewed and includes addresses, phone numbers, hours, and what to bring — the practical details that matter when you're actually trying to access a service.

Who built this

My name is Robert Casey. I'm a Terre Haute resident and a computer science student at Indiana State University. I built this site because I believe that access to basic community resources shouldn't depend on knowing the right people or navigating a maze of outdated information.

Terre Haute is a city with a lot of people who need help and a lot of organizations trying to provide it. The gap between those two groups is often just a lack of clear, accessible information. This site is an attempt to close that gap.

Everything here was built and is maintained by hand — researching organizations, verifying contact information, and keeping listings current. If you find something out of date or know of a resource that should be listed, I want to hear from you.

How the directory works

Every resource listed on this site was individually researched and verified. Listings include the organization's name, a plain-language description of what they offer, address, phone number, hours, and what to bring or expect when you contact them.

Listings are tagged with a last-verified date. When information changes — and it does — we update it. If you notice something is wrong, outdated, or missing, please let us know. This directory is only as useful as it is accurate.

This site has no ads, no paywalls, no user accounts, and no tracking. It is not affiliated with any government agency, political organization, or commercial entity. It is a free public resource maintained by volunteers.
